- PublikationEngageing with Servicerobot «Relay». A longitudinal study on the change in emotional, cognitive and behavioral engagement(26.01.2024) Hamouche, Samira; Schulze, HartmutThe everyday use of robots is becoming increasingly prevalent due to continuous advancements in artificial intelligence. The great potential of using robots, such as Relay, an autonomous service robot, has been recognized in healthcare facilities in particular. In the context of changes in the workplace resulting from the use of robots, it is essential to examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks that Relay brings. Furthermore, it remains unclear how practitioners’ engagement with Relay manifests, how it changes over time, and what the reasons behind such changes are. To address these questions, engagement is analyzed from three dimensions: emotion, cognition, and behavior. A longitudinal study was conducted in two hospitals employing Relay, utilizing non-participant observations, semi-structured interviews, and a scale reflecting attitudes towards Relay. Qualitative content analysis revealed four engagement types: the Committers, Prosaists, Optimists, and Pragmatists. Results indicated that the emotional dimension changed over time, whereas the cognitive and behavior-based dimensions remained constant. The scale indicated a decline in perceiving Relay as a social actor over time. Relay’s strength lies in relieving staff, while disruptions and technical malfunctions were cited as weaknesses.06 - Präsentation

- PublikationJob relevance or perceived usefulness? What features of immersive virtual reality software predict intention to use in a future project-based-learning scenario: a mixed method approach(Frontiers Research Foundation, 14.12.2023) Travaglini, Alessio; Brand, Esther; Meier, Pascal; Christ, Oliver [in: Frontiers in Virtual Reality]Not only since COVID-19, the topic of decentralized working and learning methods is becoming increasingly important for various reasons. New virtual reality technologies enable learning in immersive scenarios, which is good when learning from home is advised. However, not all immersive Virtual Reality (iVR) training incorporates learning systems that support complex, realistic, practical tasks that lead to a product or enable acquiring knowledge and life-enhancing skills like project-based learning. Although there are many iVR applications available that support project management, the specific features of these applications that lead to the intention to use (and therefore life-enhancing skills) have yet to be discovered. In this exploratory mixed-method study, we investigated the question of the importance of perceived usefulness (PU) and job relevance (JR) as predictors of intention to use (ItU) in a selection of immersive iVR application features. We started with market research and aggregated 88 software features in 13 categories of 34 professional iVR applications. After an expert selection and ranking procedure, a survey was developed. After deriving from the TAM 2 model and with a sample n = 103, we computed the relationship of JR, PU, and ItU. Although high values were generally observed, we found that the importance of PU is higher than JR when it comes to ItU. Limitations of the study are discussed, and suggestions for further research are given.01A - Beitrag in wissenschaftlicher Zeitschrift

- PublikationIntegration von Online-Self-Assessments in die Studien- und Berufsberatung – Einblicke aus der Praxis(Universitätsverlag Webler, 12/2023) Pässler, Katja; Mitrovic, Tanja; Dennis Mocigemba [in: Zeitschrift für Beratung und Studium]This study explores the integration of Online-Self-Assessments (OSAs) into face-toface career and student counseling. While literature provides recommendations for incorporating OSAs into counseling practices, it is unclear how counselors use them and what benefits they offer. Through qualitative research with career counseling advisors, we found that counselors view OSAs as a valuable resource with multiple supportive functions. However, counselors also face challenges when integrating OSA results into their counseling sessions.01A - Beitrag in wissenschaftlicher Zeitschrift

- PublikationFemale entrepreneurs need to be self-efficient and not risk-taking: personality and perceived success throughout the entrepreneurial journey(SAGE, 19.11.2023) Gerke, Alina; Ianiro-Dahm, Patrizia; Muck, Peter; Lehmann-Willenbrock, Nale; Hell, Benedikt [in: The Journal of Entrepreneurship]This study addresses the underrepresentation of women and the so-far neglected process perspective in empirical entrepreneurial research. It aims to identify the personality traits that differentiate successful female entrepreneurs from their less successful peers and to determine which traits are crucial for pre-launch, launch, and post-launch success. Independent t-tests on 305 female entrepreneurs (and 476 male entrepreneurs) from the DACH region highlight the role of self-efficacy, proactivity, locus of control, and need for achievement for female entrepreneurs. Multiple regression analyses further reveal the importance of self-efficacy for every phase of women’s entrepreneurial journey. While the need for autonomy was critical during pre-launch and launch, locus of control significantly predicted female entrepreneurial success in the pre-launch and post-launch phases. Contrary to previous research, risk-taking was not a crucial trait for female entrepreneurs when compared to their male counterparts, while both showed similar levels of need for autonomy, proactivity, need for achievement, perseverance, self-control, and locus of control. The study offers valuable insights into successful entrepreneurship and highlights the need for female- and phase-specific support programs to enhance self-efficacy among female entrepreneurs.01A - Beitrag in wissenschaftlicher Zeitschrift
