fhnw.initialPositionSince 1926, KR has begun producing products that facilitates household cooking. With the years, the company has successfully designed a variety of products, ranging from pots and pans to kitchen helping gadgets such as peelers, grinders and many others. In 1994, KR entered China s consumers market with a small local distributor. In 1999, they entered Hong Kong (HK) with another local distributor. As of 2013, KR generated approximate CHF 3.5 million from the Asian market as a whole. KR would like to find out possible expansion strategies to expand its profit to CHF 10 million by 2019.

fhnw.resultsIn conclusion, the author recommended KR to expand its distributorship network in China for the purpose of increasing sales and market share. It is also recommended that KR should reconsider its current distributorship relationship with the current distributor in China, whether to terminate the distribution contract or other possible future cooperation. and current distributor relationship (with the current distributor) in China The recommendations provided by the author are based on market trends, academic literature reviews, small consumer survey, expert interviews and business strategy analyses. The author hopes to present the most appropriate expansion mode to KR not only by market evidence but also personal and experts experience of China s market.
