fhnw.initialPositionFor this reason, the company has set up this project work in order to get support and guidance for the purpose of receiving a recommendation on the supply chain network design and consumer distribution model respecting logistics and business constraints as well as consumer requirements.
fhnw.procedureThe foundation for the realization of this project lies in the understanding of the current situation. The analysis is based on information from and discussions with the client?s responsible team, site visits and further qualitative research including benchmarks. In order to achieve the objectives, the authors aim to interpret and support the findings by the use of theory, relevant case studies and several cost calculations with different scenarios. Since not all precise information was disclosed to the project team, the simulations in this paper rely on data given by the client as well as own calculations and assumptions.
fhnw.resultsThe business paper illustrates several advantages and disadvantages of different possible solutions. Based on this, it also forms several recommendations. The findings and recommendations of this business paper should be used as a guideline for the business undertaking in 2014.
