Scherrer, Yvonne MyrthaBurger, Paul2019-11-142019-11-14https://irf.fhnw.ch/handle/11654/29125On 21-22 August 2008 the 2nd International Sustainability Conference ISC 2008 took place in Basel under the theme of "Creating Values for Sustainable Development". Jointly organised by the Institute of Management (IM) at the School of Business FHNW and the University of Basel, Program Sustainability Research, the conference aimed to facilitate the interdisciplinary exchange between economics and other social sciences. Out of 400 abstracts initially submitted and reviewed by the Advisory Committee, 130 presentations were eventually selected and presented at the conference. The presenters, representatives from science, the private sector, state agencies and civil society, talked to conference participants from 33 countries. The keynote lectures were held by distinguished representatives of the idea/concept of Sustainable Development: Dennis L. Meadows, Saskia Sassen, Alice Tepper Marlin and Klaus M. Leisinger.
