According to IPCC calculations, the EU27 will have a residual budget for emissions of 20 Gt CO2 from 2021 to limit global warming to a maximum of 1.5 degrees. An 80% reduction in emissions by 2030 corresponds to a path within this budget framework. The EU would have to be CO2-neutral by 2035 at the latest. The demands by FFF are consistent with the 1.5 degree target.
