Description
Abstract
The SelfReCab project develops an innovative, sustainable self-reinforced polymer (SRP) ma-terial for aircraft cabin interiors, aiming to meet demanding fire/smoke/toxicity (FST) standards while improving recyclability and reducing environmental impact. The project introduces a mono-material thermoplastic composite based on polysulfone (PSU).
The project brings together a consortium of 7 experienced Swiss and German SMEs providing specialized expertise.
SelfReCab offers a rare combination of circularity, manufacturability, and aerospace compli-ance, filling a critical market gap. It provides a timely solution aligned with airline sustainability goals and regulatory pressures, enabling early adoption and scalable cross-sector expansion into rail, automotive, and beyond.
