Description
Abstract
ESA’s EnVision mission will characterize the interior, surface and atmospheric properties of Venus to understand how these systems interact with each other. The VenSpec-H (Venus spectrometer with high resolution) instrument, being developed under the lead of BIRA-IASB (Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy) will monitor the composition of minor species in the lower atmosphere on the night side and above the clouds on the day side, to enable characterization of volcanic plumes and other sources of gas exchange with the surface of Venus. Within the VenSpec-H consortium FHNW is responsible for the mechanical and test engineering of the VenSpec-H instrument.
