Accelerated implementation of IT strategy and IT governance for Swiss SME's

Abstract

The importance of a company's IT has steadily increased in recent years. IT departments have moved from original cost factors to enablers and have become an important part of the business. This development gives IT a greater influence on the success of a company. Without functioning IT, many companies can no longer exist. The control of IT must therefore be considered strategically. Through an IT strategy derived from the corporate strategy and an IT governance integrated into the corporate governance, IT can be managed in a future-oriented manner. Studies and surveys show that an IT strategy is often in place, but that IT governance is more likely to be established in larger companies. The existing reference models and frameworks are rather designed for larger companies and require know-how and resources. The Swiss labour market consists mainly of SME. This thesis focuses principally on the topic, as there is no appropriate framework for the development and implementation of IT strategy and IT governance for SME's....
