Abstract
This Master Thesis describes an approach intended to help companies of any size prepare for the migration of IT services or infrastructure to the cloud. The approach is designed be usable by individuals with less IT expertise, but it also should provide value to IT professionals. To create the approach, literature review is required. Already known concepts and approaches are reviewed and discussed. Existing approaches are then linked together and supplemented with additional information and tools. The created approach contains two domains: Technology and Organization. The Technology pillar is about challenges and requirements that need to be addresses to setup a proper migration project. The Organization domain focuses on IT strategy, people and processes. To support the understanding of the approach, usage examples are provided. To evaluate the efficacy of the approach, interviews with target users were conducted. The results of those interviews are analyzed herein. Finally, research questions and objectives are compared to the created approach, and an outlook for possible future research is presented.
