Developing nanomaterials that combine optical tunability with biocompatibility is vital for advancing biomedical imaging technologies. A facile synthesis route was established to synthesize gold nanoparticles exhibiting plasmonic and photoluminescent properties without additional surface modification. The nanomaterials displayed uniform morphology, good colloidal stability, and favorable cellular interactions with acceptable biocompatibility. Their intrinsic optical behavior enables dual fluorescence and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), offering potential as label-free imaging probes. This straightforward and scalable approach provides a versatile platform for multifunctional nanomaterials applicable to biomedical diagnostics and optical sensing.
