In my Master’s Thesis I’ve looked for the Historical ways to tune the violin, while seeing their connection to possible intonation systems that existed. While we see references to Meantone tuning in the beginning of the Century, they seem to disappear in favor of two options: tuning “according to the Keyboard”, which isn't specific, and mainly Tartini and Galeazzi that have tuned the Violin in pure 5ths. I have taken the same look at the Intonation recorded and taught, and saw that the Basics of Just Intonation where still in practice until the very end of the 18th Century.
