Barriers to the Adoption of Electronic Leaflets in Health Care

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the key obstacles and challenges that may impede the large-scale adoption of e-leaflets to replace traditional paper-based patient information leaflets. The adoption of electronic leaflets is too broad and multifaced with the involvement of several stakeholders, such as patients, healthcare professionals, regulatory bodies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and technology providers. Therefore, this study will focus on the following research question: What barriers and challenges impede patient adoption of electronic leaflets?
