Youths' perceptions towards working within the ICT Industry - The case of Kosovo

Abstract

Information and communication technology (ICT) is becoming the main driver for socio-economic changes worldwide. This is also true in Kosovo in particular, a country with a very high youth unemployment rate. The ICT industry has been playing a very important role in Kosovo for many years, with positive trends being demonstrated year after year for the employment increase in this industry.This master thesis research is a case study seeking to enrich the body of knowledge concerning youths’ perceptions toward working in the ICT industry in Kosovo. For this purpose, interview data from youths already working in ICT companies in Kosovo were compiled to examine these perceptions.This thesis concludes that in Kosovo are positive youths’ perceptions toward working in ICT, according just to the chosen sample selection, of this case study, because the number of interviewed employees in ICT and the already working ones, differs a lot, and that is why it cannot be generalized....
