Cloud Migration Guideline

Abstract

Cloud Computing is a highly debated and discussed topic. Many organizations have already discovered cloud computing’s potential and have successfully profited from the new opportunities it brings. Migrating an application to the cloud is a complex task requiring different, interdisciplinary aspects to be taken into account. A variety of frameworks, guidelines, and other resources are available, but there is no simple, holistic guideline that addresses the most important aspects that help managers migrate to the cloud. Because of that, this research dealt with the development of a guideline that can be used as a guide for managers, focusing on the key aspects of a cloud migration. Therefore, existing frameworks and guidelines were analyzed, appropriate ones selected and determined how they can be combined in a meaningful way.
