Problem Change transformations are critical for organisations to remain competitive and adapt to changes in their environment. However, research shows that the success rate of change projects is low, and cultural barriers inside the company can be a major factor contributing to this outcome. While the importance of digital enablers as a critical component of successful change projects grows, little is known about how digital enablers can help overcome cultural barriers during change project institutionalisation. This can lead to suboptimal outcomes and missed opportunities for organisations. Purpose This research examines digital enablers that can mitigate existing cultural barriers emerging during corporate change transformations. It will give insight into a wide range of industries and focus on how corporate cultures might hinder the successful institutionalisation of corporate change transformation, as well as how digital tools can help to overcome these cultural barriers.
