Abstract
This thesis provides information about European musicians invited to the Russian imperial court during the specified time. In my research I describe some specific musical events, inventions and analyze their influence on the subsequent generations of musicians in Russia. I pay special attention to the role of European musicians in the development of existing wind instrument performance practice.
