dc.description.abstract | This applied research defines a Fog Computing architecture in a hierarchical pyramid. All key ingredients for Fog Computing are assigned into layers, to create a structured development. During the research, a total of four interviews with technical experts were conducted in Las Vegas at Cisco Live Conference 2016. The goal of the pyramid is to define the existing Fog Computing Viewpoints; from the End-User view to the technical implementation. Furthermore, it was demonstrated how by extending the Cloud with Fog Computing and equipping trains with Fog Nodes the adoption of Fog Computing for Public Transpiration can be enabled. Fog Nodes provide a new virtualization layer in the network edge, which enables rapid development and deployment of services. Together with SBB use cases for which the proposed Fog Computing architecture might be beneficial were gathered. For one use case all necessary ingredients were described to visualize the implementation. | |
