Abstract
The digital documentation platform www.criticalgames.ch was developed as "gamified proceedings" for the 2023 festival "SPIEL! Games as Critical Practice", hosted by the University of Music Basel. Curated by Michel Roth, the festival featured performances, lectures, and discussions on the societal, technological, and aesthetic impacts of games. The audiovisual documentation website (published 2025) offers an innovative network design where users can explore festival topics, events, and contributors through dynamic, gamified interactions, reflecting the playful and interdisciplinary nature of the festival. Its responsive layout makes it a model fort the dissemination of hybrid artistic research congresses.
