dc.description.abstractIT organizations are under constant cost pressure. But is this factor really the decisive yardstick for a mature organization and a sustainable development? Is the evaluation of the IT organization only based on costs even a risk for sustainable development? Bottom line: the existing performance measurements must be challenged. Furthermore, the real efforts lie in evaluating the critical success factors of an IT organization. Additionally, the current exceptional situation in times of a global pandemic challenges the prevailing assessment criteria of a mature IT organization. The aim of this work is to answer the question of the influence of corporate culture on the critical success factors for the sustainable development of an IT organization. Hereby, stakeholder expectations lead the way in assessing maturity but must be constantly challenged. To address the question a quantitative survey based on a broad literature review is conducted within an international company. As a result of the identified influences of corporate culture on the IT organization and its success factors are checked for the validity. Considering the insights of the survey, a subsequent experiment is performed by using the IT organization of the mentioned international company. The analysis of the experiment has shown that certain success factors are more relevant than others. All insights are finally covered in a model that can be used to assess an IT organization’s maturity of corporate culture for a sustainable development.
