Abstract
The present master’s thesis aims to design a virtual assistant (VA) that improves consumers’ shopping experience by meeting the requirements for privacy, security, and trust, and thus provide a new business opportunity for financial card providers. Additionally, it is intended to find the requirements for designing a VA that improves consumers’ shopping experience with respect to privacy and security. It also intends to address the main concerns users face when using these VA. Moreover, it also determines how privacy and security are currently implemented in VA, and, lastly, it discusses how a financial card provider can leverage their knowledge in the development of VA regarding privacy, security, and trust. Unlike previous studies, the privacy and security requirements needed in a VA to improve the user’s shopping experience are now defined in this master’s thesis. Therefore, it is intended to present evidence that it is possible to design a VA that improves users’ shopping experience and offers a new business opportunity for a financial card provider....
