Abstract
This master’s thesis introduces the Panoramic Lens 2.0, a model that allows organizations to assess their environment and rate the impact of external trends in the context of digital transformation. Digital transformation describes the process of change that is enabled by digital technologies on all levels of an organization. As a part of the ABILI-methodology, a methodology developed by the FHNW that helps SMEs to face those challenges, the Panoramic Lens assesses those digital technologies and rates the impact of enabled trends. During the design science research approach of this study a generic model was created that allows an industry specific adaptation. A major finding of this study is that a sustainable and useful assessment of the environment requires complex knowledge and understanding of digital transformation and technology based trends.
