Communication Systems of Swiss Healthcare Facilities

Abstract

In 2020, the coronavirus disease was officially declared as a pandemic. As the disease spread, the healthcare facilities quickly had to react and adapt to the emergency circumstances. Hospitals and clinics needed to adjust their processes and services, while the government implemented live-saving rules and measures.For a better understanding of the communication system, a literature review of relevant academic publications was conducted. The literature provides insight to the technical perspective, healthcare perspective, the importance of communication and finally the pandemic impact. These perspectives and topics offer a comprehensive overview of the knowledge about the healthcare communication system. Over a year has passed since the massive spread of the virus in Europe. Now, the pandemic impact on the adjustment of communication systems in healthcare facilities is evident. As a result, the focus of this thesis lies on the communication system within the Swiss healthcare sector and the pandemic influence on their mainly communication, as the communication systems of hospitals and clinics have proven to be crucial during emergencies such as this global pandemic....
