Abstract
This research work is focused on qualified Indians living in Basel area who are facing problems at work place due to the lack of German language skills. This research work can support the foreign employees and jobseekers living in German speaking countries. The goal of the thesis is to understand the usage and effects German learning mobile Apps to help the users to select a better German language learning Mobile App. The evaluation techniques selected for this research are Usability Test, follow-up open structured Interviews and Questionnaire. Conducted Usability test on three German learning mobile apps, “Duolingo”, “Rosetta Stone” and “Memrise”. The reason for selecting those three apps is they have designed based on different learning methods. Evaluation criteria is defined for the Usability test. Some of the evaluation criteria is adopted from the ESL based literature review and some is self-defined which is applicable for smart phones having advanced technological features like social network sharing capability and multimedia related capability....
