Abstract
This thesis concerns the use of social robots, in specific the humanoid Pepper, in healthcare organizations in Switzerland. The purpose of thesis was to identify value requirements of patients and employees of the Zentrum für Bilddiagnostik in Basel for Pepper the defined use cases “patient self-registration” and “patient education”. Out of those value requirements, design requirements for Pepper were derived. For this, the value sensitive design approach was used. Data was collected with a literature review regarding the key topics of this thesis. In addition to that, interviews with employees of the Zentrum für Bilddiagnostik and patients have been conducted to identify their value requirements for Pepper in the chosen use cases. These interviews were then analyzed, and norms and design requirements were derived. The design requirements were evaluated with healthcare professionals, patients and a social robot expert and improved or discarded based on this evaluation.
