dc.description.abstractInformation Communication Technologies (ICT’s) like Knowledge Management Platforms are rarely implemented and used to their full potential to exchange knowledge and learn among small, globally distributed teams with non-qualified workers in remote areas in developing countries like Nepal. Therefore, it becomes very challenging to support the employees of the three non-profit “sisters” NGOs, RIDS-Nepal, RIDS-Switzerland and RIDS-USA working in the field of long-term holistic community development projects in high-altitude villages in Nepal with a common platform de-signed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and learning due to the differences in their educa-tion level, technical affinity, culture and language. This Master Thesis intents to explore typical design factors of KM solutions and their effects on knowledge management among small, globally distributed teams with non-qualified workers in a remote area.
