Abstract
To study the idea of the body posture on the harpsichord, I took a step back and looked how it appeared in the historical sources.I wanted to understand how the body was considered when making music, in France in the 17th century. I studied the social and cultural environement of the courtisans of Louis XIV to understand the place of the body in the French society. After collecting elements about the body, I analyzed these ideas the physiotherapist Johanna Gutzwiller. My goal was to understand what attitude one should adopt towards these sources as a harpsichordist and teacher today.
