Abstract
Integration of Philippine handicrafts and the flowers of Basel in the design idea creates a challenge to creative thinking. The focus of this combination is how creative one can be and can set a motion in something that can be innovative in nature. Since this is not the typical normal combination, this will prove to be demanding and require oneself to be thinking out of the box so to speak.
The idea that came to my mind is to make the beautiful flowers as an inspiration and come up with an ornament design using the Philippine indigenous handicraft as the subject. Mostly the handicrafts were made as a result of the everyday needs of the Filipino family. Unfortunately, the indigenous handicrafts are slowly disappearing in the Philippines.
On the other hand, the spring flowers that are abundant in the whole of Basel are amazing to behold. I began to contemplate about the creation, I was fascinated by the many different types, shapes, colors, and characters that they convey to me.
