Since several years Jeronimo Voss has been interested in the history, social relevance and narrative qualities of apparatuses for projecting. The media used for showing and staging have subsequently been just as important to him as the objects shown. Light, transparency, mirroring, reflections and multiple layerings of the levels contained in images play a central role in his work. He uses restored glass slides from magic lanterns, 35mm slide and overhead projectors as well as digitally altered images to create contemporary film installations and collages of material. By means of montages, the artist links historical worldviews, political theories and observations on urban development.en_US
