Publikation A domain-specific visual approach to semantically describe shared datasets in business ecosystems(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2023) Miccoli, Alexandre; Laurenzi, EmanueleThis thesis explores using a domain-specific visual approach to facilitate creating and maintaining ontologies for data shared in digital business ecosystems. The research addresses the challenge of semantically describing data and improving the understanding and collaboration among stakeholders involved in data-sharing activities. The study includes a comprehensive literature review on data-sharing, ontologies, and related technologies. It highlights the importance of data-sharing in the industry and the benefits of ontologies in facilitating semantic integration. However, it also acknowledges the expertise required for ontology engineering and the limitations of existing standards and tools. A Design Science methodology is employed to prototype a domain-specific visual approach for ontology engineering and data-sharing. The prototype enables users to create, import, edit, and link ontologies tailored to their domain in a graphical environment. It also provides visual exploration capabilities for an enhanced understanding of the dataset.11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Endpoint - Cybersecurity Controls, Safeguards, Policies & Management(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2019) Miccoli, Alexandre; Roggwiller, Cedric; Stöckli, Dario; Felley, Gabriel; Brother International Europe Ltd, MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM M34 5JE UNITED KINGDOMBrother has adopted the CIS20 framework to work with, but still must create business reasoning and an assessment on each control to determine if safeguards are appropriate, including what level of investment in safeguards is reasonable. The goal of this project is to articulate an endpoint device management policy for Brother Europe, based on the risk assessment and proper safeguard analysis. Additionally, the organization is looking to adopt device management using the Microsoft Azure based Enterprise Mobile Security (EMS) E3 level toolset. At the start of the project, management of some device types (e.g.: mobile phones, tablets) has already been configured for Europe with some basic management and security controls. Since EMS E3 licenses are quite expensive, Brother wants to ensure that the purchase of around 1'500 licenses makes sense, which is why a proof of concept shall be conducted.11 - Studentische ArbeitPublikation Energy Scheduling Optimisation at SBB(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2020) Miccoli, Alexandre; Wache, Holger; Schweizerische Bundesbahnen SBB, BernEnergy production and procurement is carefully planned by SBB Energy employees on various time horizons. Since 2015, they have been supported by the optimisation software “OptRe”. The tool is mainly used to generate possible energy schedules for defined periods based on forecast data. Since its introduction, OptRe has been continuously developed further. As the contract with the current supplier will run out in the next years, a new public tender will be required. The current and future optimisation-related architecture, as well as a set of requirements, is to be developed by the student.11 - Studentische Arbeit
