Abstract
Since the outbreak of the corona crisis, digitalization has become particularly important in the field of education. The current crisis and the closure of schools have led to the fact that most lessons are offered digitally (so-called distance learning). The Swiss education system seems not to have been sufficiently prepared for this sudden change. Especially in the beginning of the crisis, digital learning opportunities for distance learning were only available in insufficient numbers. The article deals with the effects of the corona crisis on digital school education on an actor-centered-level. First (1), a case study in a primary school in the German speaking part of Switzerland is used to analyze the pre- and post-crisis situation in two sub-studies. (2) Differences between the justification of the usage of digital media of teachers and school principals before and during the pandemic are outlined, and (3) possible consequences of the crisis for the digitization of the education system are anticipated. The study puts its focus on a qualitative investigation of the actors involved. The main objective is to reconstruct the processes of negotiation, coordination and organization.
