Abstract
Building upon the foundational practices of generative Art in digital environments, this Master's thesis interrogates manifestations of algorithmic materiality. The resulting inquiry examines the use of robotic drawing, with a focus on pen plotters, as the primary site of investigation. This practice-based research investigates how these apparatuses have the potential to reveal new forms of distributed authorship through embodied computation and physical translation of algorithmic processes. Inspired by cybernetic and posthuman theoretical frameworks, it challenges traditional notions of singular creative genius by examining how authorship emerges through recursive interactions within human-machine assemblages.
