Abstract
One of the major success factors for an organization is agility in a dynamic environment. Agility in processes can be defined in the scenario. However, the gap between build‐time modeling and run‐time execution of business processes is obstacles for the enterprise. Process mining allows for the analysis of business processes based on event‐logs or trace logs by an information system during process execution. This thesis is going to describe the state of the art of process mining and then apply to the process of the matriculation of University of Applied Science Northwestern Switzerland – FHNW as a particular scenario to prove the theory. Eventually, the methodology is evaluated to see how valuable and contributable to the enterprise in dealing with uncertain and changing quickly environment by supplying knowledge work hidden in data.
