Application of adaptive learning in a combination of online and offline interaction and learning

Abstract

Education system is in the pace of development through the use of proven or new developing technologies, which will have a positive impact on learning achievements by students and to support the teachers or professors in teaching. Adaptive learning is an educational method to provide personalized learning to students. Adaptive learning adapts their teaching methods by analysing the learner from different aspects. In this paper, the investigation of research is to analyse how to apply adaptive learning in a combination of online and personal interaction and learning. A learning scenario is selected from higher education and adaptive learning is applied. The challenges of case teaching, types of data that can be collected, information that can be retrieved and data collection mechanism are investigated. Higher education authorities can use this research as a starting point to investigate the application of adaptive learning.
