This Master's thesis delves into the Universe of Care, marking my first academic exploration of this often invisible yet invincible and resilient world. Situated within a design-artistic practice, the project is research-led, weaving together ethnographic observation, reflective writing, video documentation, and participatory engagement with humans and more-than-humans to answer the research question, “Who cares for us?” Through close collaborations and field research based on a “Care-Chat”, I aim to highlight the lived realities of six female healthcare practitioners and their worlds, bringing attention to how care is perceived, distributed, and sustained. These conversations have deepened my understanding of their world. The recorded testimonies are in shared ownership, and by turning them into a film/video-essay (currently a work in progress), their knowledge becomes accessible, supporting them and providing a possibility for further change within their universe of care.
