Abstract
ilmik ilmik (tr.: stitch by stitch) is a collection of loose ends that translates into garments – a soft and sensible way of communication, connecting stories and sharing memories. The collection raises awareness to detail and a conscious appreciation of handcraft and the empowerment that lies within. Through space and garments, stories are interwoven and told simultaneously. Growing from one space, within another space and into one itself. “It is a constant questioning and for many creatives not a linear process. Like knitting a hose, comparable to a stocking, the thread here always turns around an axis. The core of the work is not always clear and unaltered to see, but always hidden in the hose.”
