Rediscovering Forgotten Colors using Augmented Reality

Abstract

The monastery currently relies on showcase displays for collections. However, this approach, characterized by limited interaction and fixed behaviour patterns, may result in a less engaging experience, causing a higher cognitive load and reduced attention. This thesis addresses the underexplored heritage site with the objective of identifying the requirements and functionalities for the design of an AR application. Leveraging AR technology, the project seeks to enhance the visitors' experience by providing additional information about the frescos.
