Un-stroll

Abstract

«Un-stroll» is a guided tour through Geneva with a «Zvieri» (4 o’clock snack) in the middle of the night. The darkness swallows the view, urban everyday noises make room for less obvious sounds, most people have disappeared from the public space. «Sightseeing» becomes «sightlistening» and «mindseeing». How does our perception of space and the meaning of the urban change ? How does the attention move if expectations of place, time and significance are not fulfilled ?

«Un-stroll» was selected by a jury to be part of «Parenthesis – Unconference : a space to share processes in artistic research», a 24h non-stop conference organised by the Swiss Artistic Research Network in Geneva in Mai 2014.
