Abstract
Over the past years, it has become obvious that sharing knowledge in construction projects is important since construction projects rely on a wide range of knowledge from different sources. However, knowledge-sharing is limited due to a lack of management support, relevance and benefit of knowledge sharing, motivation, and time. Limited knowledge sharing leads to repeating mistakes, knowledge loss and more time spent searching for knowledge. Even though there is extensive research on limited knowledge sharing in an organization such as construction or real estate, the research lacks the studies considering knowledge sharing within the organization with a specific purpose, such as corporate real estate. Therefore, this master thesis seeks to enhance knowledge-sharing in construction projects among project managers in corporate real estate by proposing a concept of how to enhance knowledge-sharing. This thesis applies literature review and interviews as the main source of data. The literature review aims to derive requirements for knowledge-sharing since the proposed concept is based on the requirements from the literature. The proposed concept provides functionalities such as problem-solving services, accessing documents and templates, joining knowledge-sharing sessions, picking rewards, or accessing other data sources. The research findings indicated that the proposed concept considering requirements for knowledge-sharing might improve knowledge-sharing by reducing similar mistakes, knowledge loss, and time spent searching for information. The results of this research are especially helpful for managers who aim to enhance knowledge-sharing among project managers within corporate real estate.
