Abstract
Cloud Computing enables companies to optimize their way of doing business. Companies need to migrate their existing services and on-premise infrastructure to use Cloud-based offerings. However, many companies struggle to find a suitable way to perform a cloud migration. Even though guidelines already exist, the needs of particular industries often are not covered. Therefore, this research focuses on identifying the current requirements of the financial and insurance industry in Switzerland. By analysing existing laws and regulations requirements for a compliant cloud migration was identified. Further interviews with several Experts were conducted to identify the requirements and concerns from busines side. With this knowledge, a prototype of a migration guide will be created. In this thesis, a literature review will evaluate existing guidelines to prove a gap exists and prove that no research was made on this specific topic. Furthermore, the research gives an overview of existing cloud providers and their opportunities for swiss finance and insurance companies to migrate into the cloud.
