Application for the Comparison of Pension Fund Benefits

Abstract

An asset management firm has recently expanded their business to include consulting services in structuring occupational pension plans. In order to adequately counsel employers, asset managers require a way of illustrating differing pension fund benefits and comparing those to industry averages. A challenge faced in carrying out this task, is their reliance on spreadsheets to store and process data. Thus, limiting their ability to convey the hard to define variations in risk and savings plan benefits. A more transparent and structured approach for the presentation of information is needed.
