Abstract
With the use of electronic information systems in core areas of social work, there is a demand that the voice of social work be given a firm place in software development. However, the realization of such a “Participatory Design” faces various challenges that are to be located and negotiated in “Arenas of Participation” at the micro, meso, and macro levels. This article illuminates three such challenges as examples and considers how they could be addressed in the future.
