Blueprinting Process Digitalization at Paul Scherrer Institute with SAP: The Case of Event Equipment Rental

Abstract

At PSI, the event rental equipment process (e.g. sound systems, beamers) is a manual process, with corresponding media discontinuities and not offering IT support for users. This leads to issues such as non-transparency, increased processing effort, inventory mapping issues with the ERP system (SAP), and a non-optimal user experience. Addressing these challenges through digitalization is crucial for enhancing efficiency, compliance, and user satisfaction. Therefore, transformation is needed.
