Zusammenfassung
With recent technological advancements, AI has found various applications in fashion, particularly as a source of inspiration for developing new forms and silhouettes. The aim of this Master's thesis is to investigate how generative AI can be used to complement and amplify creativity without overshadowing the human creative signature. Alongside theoretical foundations on creativity, co-creativity, and authenticity, the project includes a practical component that documents the design process and analysis of AI-generated fashion imagery. The work opens up a conversation about the creative potential of AI in fashion: its promises, its boundaries, and the questions it raises. Rather than offering definitive answers, it invites reflection on the evolving relationship between human designers and intelligent machines. What happens when technology begins to shape the creative process? Where does authorship begin, and where might it shift? Touching on issues of ethics, sustainability, and originality, the research encourages a nuanced perspective on AI not as a replacement, but perhaps as a new kind of collaborator in design. It is also intended to serve as a guide for designers and highlight the opportunities and limitations of using generative AI in fashion design.
