Publikation The NetAcademy - A Novel Approach to Domain-specific Scientific Knowledge Accumulation, Dissemination and Review.(1998) Lincke, David-Michael; Schmid, Beat; Schubert, Petra; Selz, DorianOver the last decade the speed at which knowledge is generated has greatly accelerated, thus exacerbating the problem of finding the right information at the right time and posing new kinds of challenges to the management of an ever increasing pool of knowledge. Taking up the ideas of the ancient Greek concept of Academia, the ?NetAcademy? is aiming at providing a knowledge medium to aid in the creation, integration, reviewing and dissemination of domain-specific knowledge in the scientific community taking full advantage of the unique characteristics of the Internet medium. The vision is to offer an open structure and management concept for virtually any kind of field of research in search of an intelligible organization of its contents. The paper emphasizes on the motivation of the NetAcademy concept and its feasibility on the basis of available Internet technologies.04B - Beitrag KonferenzschriftPublikation A Global Knowledge Medium as a Virtual Community: The NetAcademy Concept(1998) Schubert, Petra; Lincke, David-Michael; Schmid, BeatTaking up the ideas of the ancient Greek concept of Academia, the ?NetAcademy? is aiming at providing a knowledge medium to aid in the creation, integration, reviewing and dissemination of domain-specific knowledge in the scientific community. In pursuit of these goals it is taking full advantage of the unique characteristics and potential of the Internet medium. The NetAcademy - A New Concept for Online Publishing and Knowledge Management(1998) Schmid, Beat; Schubert, Petra; Selz, Dorian; Stanoevska-Slabeva, Katarina; Handschuh, Siegfried04B - Beitrag KonferenzschriftPublikation Organizational Design of an IT-based Knowledge System: The NetAcademy Concept(1998) Schubert, Petra; Selz, DorianThe emergence of new media channels such as the World Wide Web has induced a profound growth in the publication of books, papers, pictures and hypertext documents. In addition to forming a large knowledge base, the NetAcademy (NA) is meant to provide a meeting place for the joint discussion of trends, the exchange of personal opinions and research results within a specific scientific field of research or interest.Building up a compound knowledge system does not only require an adequate design and good technological implementation it involves also permanent engagement from a core of people responsible for news update, reviewing and feedback response. A smooth integration and automation of processes is therefore a key prerequisite for the successful maintenance and continuous attractiveness of the system. The paper describes the realization of the NetAcademy platform dealing with its template-based design and the combination of different software tools such as e.g.04B - Beitrag KonferenzschriftPublikation The E-Business Navigator: Implementing a Classification Scheme for the E-Domain(2004) Sigrist, Barbara; Schubert, PetraThe paper describes research activity for the development of the "e-business navigator" ? a graphical representation of a classification scheme for the e-business domain. The need for a common understanding of e-business terms evolved in the publicly funded project "eXperience" where case studies were to be classified according to a common standard. The authors of this paper developed a common classification scheme in order to structure relevant knowledge and make it publicly available for all interested researchers and practitioners. One of the objectives was the creation of a common language among all parties involved. A network project of European perspective is in the making and will advance the discussion about the common e-language and e-understanding. Above all, this network will work with the classification scheme and validate its use and implementation in the time to come.04B - Beitrag Konferenzschrift
