Shared Leadership – Konzeptanalyse am Beispiel der schweizerischen Unfallversicherungsanstalt Suva
(Hochschule für Angewandte Psychologie FHNW, 18.12.2024) Longo-Burch, Alexandra; Gutknecht, Simon
This master's thesis deals with the topic of shared leadership and its potential for counteracting the shortage of skilled workers in the Swiss insurance industry. The theoretical part of the master's thesis answered the following research question: Why does a shared leadership concept add value to companies from a scientific perspective? In this regard, it was shown that successful implementation of shared leadership has a positive influence on both the ability to innovate, competitiveness and commitment within the company. But internal cohesion and the trust of the members of the organization are also strengthened by shared leadership. In the next step, the second research question was answered through an empirical study with the help of expert interviews: To what extent can bring the shared leadership concept added value for Suva? The two sub-questions were also answered: How should a concept with recommendations for action be introduced? And: What would be obstacles to its introduction? In the case of Suva, introducing shared leadership throughout the company can help reduce the shortage of skilled workers. However, it should be noted that other concepts should also be pursued. The empirical study has shown that focusing on women who are not available on the job market due to childcare, or creating more transparency regarding new and innovative leadership and work concepts can also make a positive contribution to counteracting the shortage of skilled workers.
