Abstract
This thesis is about the importance of playful learning through an experiential approach. The unicity of its alphabet represents the first barrier when learning the Korean language, creating a big accessibility issue. For this reason, I created different hands-on experimental methods to show how people can internalize alphabets easily.
With structural cards on Korean consonants, vowels, and their built-up combinations, the study shows how simple and structural design can influence people to help their understanding and its after-application to the language. Based on personal experiences in Korea, France, and Switzerland, it demonstrates how language influences our freedom, identity, and social interactions. Furthermore, it highlights the value of the primal instinct to play as human as animals. primal instinct to play as human as animals.
The thesis seeks to ignite people’s curiosity and engagement towards playful autonomy, aiming for immersive language learning.
