Abstract
On the occasion of the exhibition Eco-Visionaries, a sound walk with the artist and researcher of eco-acoustics Marcus Maeder took place. Visitors got to discover the acoustics of the city.
In eco-acoustics, the field in which Marcus Maeder researches and works artistically, environmental noises are examined with regards to ecological and aesthetic aspects. In the sound walk, visitors listened to nature in the city - the animals and plants, the traffic noise and the sounds of the city. In addition, participants performed acoustic microscopy and listened to the inner life of plants and the soil with special sensors. Marcus Maeder explained how he examines soundscapes and makes them audible.
