Abstract
Changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic might be expected for the future execution of the carnival. An educational app in combination with AR could tackle and assist the further need for help in acquiring knowledge and address uncertainties previously provided by active as well as passive participants within the initial research phase. Thereby, technology is indirectly applied as a support for fostering the endurance of the Basler carnival. The AR app must be considered during the year and outside the carnival due to the interviewee’s perception about technologies threatening the carnival.
