The private nonprofit association MobiLab, in collaboration with the School for Teacher Education of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and with support of benefactors from industry, foundations and private patrons, is going to operate a mobile laboratory for scientific experiments. It is offered as an on-demand service to primary school classes (grades 4 to 6). The service is supervised by an accredited expert. The goal of this educational offer is to arouse the interest of children in science and engineering at an age when they are most receptive to new concepts and ideas. Due to this fact the undertaking is also aimed at encouraging children to be Switzerlands future scientists and engineers. Another goal of the MobiLab is to show in-service teachers and teacher students, how to teach science as inquiry.
