(2022) Gatziu Grivas, Stella; Giovanoli, Claudio; Grasshoff, Gunnar; Imhof, Denis; Hinkelmann, Knut; Gerber, Aurona
The digital age poses manifold challenges and difficult conditions for all sizes of organizations in all industries. Organizations need to adapt to complex challenges and difficult conditions and to plan and execute their digital transformation strategies. More and more organizations need support by strategic business consulting companies which must be offered in an effective and efficient way so that also small and medium sized companies can profit from it to stay competitive. Our research work focusses on the development of online strategic consulting tools offered as self-services on a web-based platform supporting the definition of digital transformation strategy. The so-called Digital Backpack Assessment (DBA) measures the digital maturity and proposes possible cases for changes. The tool follows the following principles: (1) A holistic approach with focus on the customer orientation, the business models, the organizational excellence, and the operational excellence. (2) An open strategy approach where several stakeholders from the company participate

    Agile management in cybersecurity
(2023) Asprion, Petra; Giovanoli, Claudio; Scherb, Christopher; Bhat, Sourabha; Gerber, Aurona; Hinkelmann, Knut
Cybersecurity management has emerged as a topic of growing importance on a global scale. Applying traditional management practices to cybersecurity is often too cumbersome and can lead to significant delays. Today's enterprises must be able to adapt to ever-evolving digital threats and act with corresponding agility and flexibility. Agile methods are well suited for projects without a defined scope, duration, tasks, and resources and has been identified as suitable for meeting the management challenges of cybersecurity teams. Based on an in-depth literature review, this study assumed that adopting an agile approach to cybersecurity helps organizations manage cybersecurity effectively. A first prototypical model was developed and evaluated which combines agile methods with cybersecurity functions - based on a recognized reference model.

Cloud advisor bot: towards a chatbot to enable efficient cloud assessments
(IEEE, 2021) Hofer, Emanuel Lucas; Gatziu Grivas, Stella; Giovanoli, Claudio
Increased consciousness of cloud computing capabilities leads to greater adoption of the cloud. For many businesses, cloud computing represents an attractive cost-saving option for the establishment and maintenance of IT resources. Decision-makers are often confronted with multi-criteria decision issues regarding cloud service and deployment model selection and do not have the required technological and business-related background. This work aimed at developing a conversational decisions advisor in the form of the Cloud Advisor Bot to support complex assessment of cloud needs. The literature review revealed a gap in this domain as there is no pre-existing research in the area of chatbots that support the cloud assessment process. Based on the literature reviews as well as further research, it was investigated which elements needed to be developed in order to implement a prototype of the Cloud Advisor Bot. To achieve this, design science research was applied to iteratively develop the solution. The evaluation has shown that the prototype of the Cloud Advisor Bot can be successfully used in order to conduct an assessment regarding a possible cloud deployment scenario. The paper also proposes further developments in order to improve the solution and make it viable for the future

Security/Governance of Cloud Computing Users: Developing a Benchmark tool
(Hochschule für Wirtschaft FHNW, 2010) Giovanoli, Claudio; Gatziu Grivas, Stella
Cloud computing emerges as a new computing model which aims to provide consistent, customized dynamic computing environments for end-users. In near future companies need only devices connected to the internet via broadband network access. Other required services like infrastructure, platforms and applications are placed off premise by cloud service providers and used on demand. Clients of such cloud services have no control or influence on the cloud service providers' IT infrastructure, because they just use the offered service as agreed in contracts. This lack of control, or Governance and also Security and Compliance issues are most often cited by costumers as an obstacle to move to the cloud. This Master Thesis picks up such concerns. In a first step standards regarding IT-Governance, Risk Management and Compliance are identified and analyzed. Based on the findings questionnaires for cloud providers and users are developed. The provider questionnaire is intended to be a part of a providers’ certification program by Cloud Suisse. The users’ assessment is mentioned as a method for potential cloud users, to identify their GRC-maturity. Based on the maturity, recommendations can be given if a cloud customer is on a stage to be cloud ready regarding Governance, Risk and Compliance issues. Finally this work is concluding, if there’s a way to support cloud users according to their most cited cloud concerns.

    Cloud Services aus einer Hand
(Swiss Professional Media, 2017) Gatziu Grivas, Stella; Giovanoli, Claudio; Graf, Manuela
